The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Ljungbacken accommodates boys aged 16 to 20 years. The institution is located in Uddevalla.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue is a meaningful challenge. When you work as a treatment pedagogue with us, you and your colleagues from different professional backgrounds are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. You work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. In this role, you are expected to be physically active and participate in health-promoting activities, but you also contribute to the daily routines of the young people by assisting with regular household tasks. Documentation is an important part of your work. The tasks may involve heavy lifting, and you need to work with a high level of risk and safety awareness. This is a job for you who can remain steadfast, creating safety and security in the often very difficult life situations of the young people.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a positive view of people and a drive to work with youth. You relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner while being able to set boundaries and follow established decisions. You collaborate well with your colleagues and are secure, stable, and capable of maintaining a professional demeanor. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability.

You should also have:

  • At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school, or another post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.
  • Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form.
  • Driving license B.

Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, such as in psychiatry, HVB operations, addiction care, criminal care, or health and social care, is an advantage. Knowledge and experience of NPF diagnoses are also meritorious.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.

Working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
